West Wind

West Wind is a 3-bedroom townhome display home nestled in the heart of Lelem Village at UBC, thoughtfully designed for a young family with a spirit of adventure. As my first project with Polygon Homes, I worked closely alongside the senior designer and was deeply involved in shaping custom features that brought the warm, West Coast-inspired concept to life.

One of the most memorable spaces is the son’s Indiana Jones-themed bedroom, designed to feel playful, immersive, and full of imagination. I created a custom headboard wall with CNC-cut stone cave motifs and illustrated a hand-drawn vinyl mural to complete the scene. To bring the story to life, I sourced unique accessories like hanging monkey lights and real tree branches, layering in texture and whimsy. I also coordinated custom cushions, headboard design, and detailed styling elements while working closely with vendors to make sure each piece felt intentional and cohesive.

Other special touches included a music and keyboard studio nook created as a creative retreat for the parents, a custom walk-in closet with tie and accessory pull-out drawers, and a built-in TV wall that added both function and visual interest.

This project was a beautiful introduction to residential display design. It gave me the opportunity to blend creativity with practicality while gaining hands-on experience in FF&E, custom millwork, and vendor collaboration. Every element worked in harmony to bring the imagined family story to life, creating a space that feels cohesive, expressive, and true to the theme.
